Hermon man pleads not guilty in voting fraud case

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A Hermon man accused of trying to vote in the name of his deceased uncle in the 2024 general election was in court Thursday.
Brian Rafford is charged with attempting to vote in the name of another, two counts of committing forgery on an absentee ballot or application, and voting twice in the same election.
Rafford allegedly requested an absentee ballot in the name of his late uncle, Dale Rafford of Hampden. According to court documents the ballot return envelope was completed by Rafford, who forged his uncle’s signature.
Rafford pleaded not guilty to all four charges.
Court documents did not specify what party Rafford is affiliated with.
He’s due in court again on June 2.
