Ellsworth confirms new City Council members following Friday recount

ELLSWORTH, Maine (WABI) - The recount for Ellsworth City Council is complete and while the numbers are different, the end result has not changed.

The city has confirmed that Patrick Shea, Carol Patterson-Martineau, and Marinna Smith will assume the three open seats on the Ellsworth City Council.

According to the city, Smith and Patterson-Martineau had more votes than John Linnehan.

Linnehan called for a recount on Tuesday November 4, after falling short two votes to Smith

Friday’s recount results show that Patterson-Martineau and Linnehan were separated by two votes.

Smith had one more vote than Patterson-Martineau.
