Police arrest man after a shooting that left a teenager dead in Lewiston

LEWISTON, Maine (WABI) - A Lewiston man has been arrested after a teenager was found dead in Lewiston last summer.

State Police said 23-year-old Nasib Aden of Lewiston was responsible for the death of 17-year-old Sahal Muridi of Lewiston.

In July of 2024, Lewiston Police responded to a reported shooting on Rideout Avenue in Lewiston.

When officers arrived, they found Muridi dead on the ground.

The Chief Medical Examiners Office says Muriri died of a gunshot wound to the head and neck and it was ruled a homicide.

In June, Aden was arrested in Minnesota.

On Thursday he was extradited back to Maine.

He was arraigned the following Friday and he plead not guilty.

Aden is currently being held at the Androscoggin County Jail.
