Viral TikTok chocolate bar shakes up customers of Bangor food truck

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A delicious treat is now going viral across the world.

A chocolate treat with dough and pistachios has shocked taste buds everywhere so one Bangor chef decided to try it out.

If you use TikTok, you may have come across the viral treat created by a chocolatier.

“She created this chocolate bar at a store there and the crunch got a lot of the attention,” said Anik Derphilibossian, the owner of Dreamer Food out of Bangor.

Derphilibossian decided to try and make it herself to see what all the hype was about.

“It is very delicate and particular on how it’s made, it’s not as easy as people make it sound on TikTok,” said Derphilibossian.

TV5 wanted to see the process of this new trending delicacy.

“This is Kataifi which is shredded filo dough,” said Derphilibossian. “This is cut into tiny, tiny pieces, then toasted with butter and then it will turn into this. This is one of the versions of pistachio and sometimes we add a little bit of tahini just to loosen it up with the kataifi and this is what it turns out to be. We have the double boiler and just some water and just melting some good quality chocolates.”

Then the magic happens.

The chocolate goes into the mold and then they freeze it.

Once it’s done molding, it receives a nice finish of gold dust.

Once she posted on Dreamer Food’s Facebook page the delicacy was up for sale they were flooded with orders.

A chocolate delicacy that’s satisfying taste buds worldwide.

The chocolate bar has become so popular that they have been booked.
