ORONO, Maine (WABI) - Downtown Orono kicked off its Arts Festival Friday afternoon.
For the third year in a row, the town is hosting an array of events centered around creative expression.
Activities including painting, drawing, writing, improv, poetry, and live music.
Organizers say the point of the festival is to give local artists a platform to showcase their skills.
“We have a mix of music artists that are fan favorites, locals to the Orono-Bangor area, and also artists that from farther away around the state. But we really also focus on highlighting Maine artists,” said Executive Director MJ Sedlock.
The festival is open to all and includes family-friendly events.
It’s also free to the public.
