Anchor/Reporter
Bangor, ME
Jack McGuire

Jack was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Growing up, he would watch the news with his parents, piquing his interest in current events and reporting. He credits this with having a large influence on his journey into journalism.

He played football, soccer, and lacrosse at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale before going to Providence College. Since the school didn’t have a journalism department, he studied marketing and political science while interning for WHDH in Boston, learning the tricks of the trade from Boston sports anchor Joe Amorosino.

Jack earned his master’s degree at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School. He reported from Capitol Hill for WATE Knoxville before being given the opportunity to anchor in Bangor.

Spending most of his life surrounded by the beaches of Fort Lauderdale, he was intrigued by what life would look like in Bangor. Since he got here, he has loved it!

In his free time, Jack loves spending time with family, working out, hitting popular nightlife spots with his friends, and getting active outdoors! Most importantly, you’ll find him at church on Sundays.
