STONINGTON, Maine (WABI) - A Deer Isle man is behind bars this morning, charged with vandalizing a Stonington business early Sunday morning.

Authorities say 41-year-old Mark Vallejos damaged the storefront of Burnt Cove Market, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

Vallejos is also accused of vandalizing multiple vehicles parked at the store before showing a firearm and running off.

Authorities say evidence obtained during the course of their investigation led to Vallejos. He is expected to be arraigned in court on Monday.

A Facebook Post for Burnt Cove Market says they are closed on Monday.
