Launch delayed for space mission commanded by Maine native Jessica Meir

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (WABI) - NASA has announced a new target date for the launch of the Crew-12 mission which includes Caribou native astronaut Jessica Meir.

The crew is now expected to launch at 5:15 a.m., Friday.

The crew of four, commanded by Meir, will go up in a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket to the International Space Station.

They will launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

This will be Meir’s second trip to space.

Her first trip was in 2019 when she participated in the first all-female spacewalk with fellow astronaut Christina Koch.
