Maine Sea Grant receives $1.4 million for lobster research, outreach

ORONO, Maine (WABI) - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is awarding the Maine Sea Grant program at the University of Maine $1.4 million for lobster research and outreach.

The funding is part of the American Lobster Initiative funded by the NOAA Sea Grant.

The funding will help the Maine Sea Grant address complex challenges that the American lobster fishery is facing for the next four years.

The research findings will also be made available to fisherman, policymakers, and the public.
