50 years later, Army buddies reunite in Skowhegan

SKOWHEGAN, Maine (WABI) - After more than five decades apart, two Army veterans reunited in Skowhegan.

This is 73-year-old Richard Hightower and 72-year-old Ron Dumont.

Both men served together in Germany back in the 70s but then lost touch.

Recently, Richard, who’s from Texas, remembered Ron lived in Skowhegan. So, he made a few calls and eventually the two were able to reconnect.

After catching up on the phone, Ron invited Richard up to visit - an invitation that was quickly accepted.

The two buddies spent the last week exploring the area, which of course included trying Maine Lobster and breakfast pizza at Al’s Pizza in Skowhegan, where the above photo was taken.
