Greenway Equipment Sales celebrates 30 years

HERMON, Maine (WABI) - A dealership with locations in Hermon and Ellsworth is marking a big milestone.

Greenway Equipment Sales is celebrating thirty years as a family-owned business.

The Smith family bought the business in Ellsworth in 1994 selling their signature John Deere products.

Then, they opened a store in Bangor which has since moved just over the town line into Hermon.

They’ve expanded to sell other brands since then such as Honda and Stihl.

The Smith brothers say they’ve been involved with tractors since they were kids growing up in Aroostook County.

”We wouldn’t be here without our customers, and we wouldn’t be here without our people. We can’t do it without good people and good customers and good people to help us grow this business. And I want to thank everybody,” said Mitchel Smith, Co-owner, Greenway Equipment Sales.

“We were in the business before and just looking for another small business and I knew that guy was selling his business down in Ellsworth. So, we went out and looked at it and we knew the John Deere brand and we knew the quality of the equipment and everything and that’s how we kind of got into it,” explained Tyler Smith, Co-owner, Greenway Equipment Sales.

Greenway Equipment Sales employs more than 40 people between their two locations.
