New restaurant open Just Down the Road

Levant couple Todd and Angie Eaton didn't always want to be in the restaurant business, let alone run their own place.

It wasn't until what used to be the Hermon Family Restaurant went up for sale a second time that it seriously crossed their mind.

"We talked about it one time when it was for sale about a year ago and just didn't take the plunge and do it then and then we saw it for sale this time and we decided while we were on vacation," Angie Eaton said.

Called Just Down the Road Family Restaurant, it is located in Hermon and has been open for about a month.

The couple completely renovated the building.

They have a new menu and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day long.

"A very popular item is the pot roast and the prime rib," Angie Eaton said. "

"The prime rib is a big one," added Todd Eaton.

The restaurant is completely family run with homemade food and hopefully some ice cream in the future.

Todd is from the area and says it feels good to be home.

"For me, it's the area where I grew up, and so I get to see a lot of people that I haven't seen in thirty years or so and it's kind of like a homecoming," Todd Eaton said.

They are open Monday through Saturday 6 AM to 8 PM and Sunday 6 AM to 2 PM.

"Everybody really loves the atmosphere, it's very down home. Everybody knows everybody, it's a very good feeling," Angie Eaton said.
