Camden Hills has sights set on state girls soccer championship

CAMDEN, Maine (WABI) - The Camden Hills girls soccer team is the North’s No. 1 seed in the Class A state tournament.

The Windjammers entered the postseason with a 14-0 record and 108-3 goal differential.

They began their tournament run with an 8-0 win over No. 8 Hampden Academy in the regional quarterfinals.

“This year, we all really want it. I think we know we can do it, and I think that also helps. Our confidence is really high too,” said Thea Laukka, senior forward.

“We’ve all had the goal of winning the whole thing this year. It’d be great. It’s all we want. I think it’s like six years now where we’ve gotten knocked out in the Northern A final. This year, I feel like all the motivation has just built up. So, we really want it this year,” said Molly Williams, junior midfielder.

Next up for Camden Hills is No. 4 Brewer in the North semifinals.
