PORTLAND, Maine (WABI) - A Monticello man’s murder conviction and sentence have been upheld by Maine’s highest court.

Jayme Schnackenburg, 42, is serving a 55-year sentence for the murder of Kimberly Hardy.

Arguments were heard in a Portland courtroom in March.

Defense attorneys argued the trial court made several errors, including excluding Hardy’s toxicology report, giving unclear jury instructions, allowing graphic photos into evidence, and imposing what he called improper sentences.

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court did not agree with those arguments and denied Schnackenburg’s appeals.
