Woman arrested for drug trafficking in Bucksport

BUCKSPORT, Maine (WABI) - A woman was arrested for drug trafficking in Bucksport Monday morning.

The Bucksport Police say when 31-year-old Sara Malta was pulled over, they found illegal drugs along with drug paraphernalia in her vehicle.

While being processed at the Hancock County Jail, Malta was found to be concealing suspected controlled substances within her body.

She faces charges of aggravated trafficking, unlawful trafficking and possession of schedule drugs among other charges.

We’re told officials recovered nearly $600 in cash during the investigation.

She is currently being held at the Hancock County Jail.
