Child tests positive for amphetamines, 1 arrest made

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT/Gray News) - A Georgia woman was arrested after an infant was found to have been exposed to amphetamines.
Sydnie Yilmaz was arrested on Wednesday. According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the 39-year-old was wanted in connection with a cruelty to children investigation.
According to an incident report, deputies were called out to a children’s hospital after a child who was brought in for reports of seizures tested positive for amphetamines. The child was admitted to the ICU.
Deputies did not give any other details about Yilmaz’s arrest or confirm her relationship to the child.
