BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Good afternoon, and happy Wednesday, everyone. Clouds are overcast across most of Maine with scattered rain showers falling in spots. Temperatures have warmed up into the 40s for most, with a fall upper 30s lingering in the Moosehead region. Visibility remains good with wind speeds between 5-15 mph out of the South.

Skies will remain overcast with a few scattered rain showers this afternoon. Highs will vary throughout the 40s with southerly gusts reaching 20-30 mph. Rainfall totals will likely accumulate under a tenth of an inch for most, with only a trace of snow possible in higher elevations.

Showers will become a bit more widespread overnight with skies remaining on the cloudier side. Temperatures will reach down into the 30s for all, which will help change many rain showers to light snow showers during the early morning. SSW gusts will reach 20 mph.

Thursday will be the wettest and gloomiest day of the coming week. Cloudier skies are expected just about all day long, apart from some breaks in clouds developing to the south and west later in the afternoon. Rain and snow showers are expected throughout the morning, before easing up and becoming more scattered in the afternoon. Highs will vary from the low 40s to low 50s with South to NNW gusts reaching 20-30 mph once again.

Rainfall totals will vary between a quarter and a half an inch for most on Thursday. Locations to the south and west of the Western Mountains and Capital region will receive up to a tenth of an inch, however. Snowfall totals will be under an inch for most, apart from a few pockets where 1-2 inches are possible across some Northern locations.

By Friday, conditions will dry out. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy in the morning, before clouding out almost entirely in the afternoon. More sun is expected farther southwest. Highs will vary from the low 40s to low 50s with NNW gusts peaking between 20-35 mph.

The weekend is looking to be a beautiful one with sunshine and warming temperatures. Highs will vary throughout the 50s and low 60s with calmer winds and a mix of sun and clouds.

Dry conditions look likely to last at least through Monday and early Tuesday, before precipitation chances increase late Tuesday into Wednesday.
