Victoria Hood’s new book explores love in all its forms

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Bangor author Victoria Hood has released a new book, “Destroy Me, Desecrate My Bones: A Collection of Longings,” a collection that examines different types of love.

Hood, originally from the Philadelphia suburbs, said she was inspired to write the book to explore the changing ways people experience and express love beyond romantic relationships, including the love of friends.

Summary:

“A collection of essays, short stories, poems, and charts in Victoria Hood’s indelible voice, Destroy Me, Desecrate My Bones confronts raw desires, rock bottoms, measureless loves, and the viscera of all realms. Percussive, evocative language and experiments of form create a world of earnest uncanny as Hood takes stock of the desires of the living, the dead, the imagined, and the beloved.”

In addition to “Destroy Me, Desecrate My Bones: A Collection of Longings,” she is also the author of “My Haunted Home” and “I Am My Mothers Disappointments, poems.”
