Monmouth Academy tops Machias in Class D state boys basketball championship

AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - The Monmouth Academy Mustangs won the Class D state boys basketball title, 51-41, over the Machias Bulldogs.

“Two years ago with our state championship team, a lot of us were on that team, and a lot of us are really mature. It just came down to that, being big boys. This year just feels good to bring it back home,” said Levi Laverdiere, junior guard.

Rory Foyt, Aiden Oliveira, Tyler Johnson, and Liam Ennis are the Mustangs’ seniors.
