Camden Hills set to face Portland for Class A state boys basketball championship

CAMDEN, Maine (WABI) - The Camden Hills Windjammers won Class A North as the No. 1 seed with wins over No. 8 Skowhegan, No. 4 Bangor, and No. 3 Brunswick.

Now, the South champion and No. 6 seed Portland Bulldogs stand between the Jammers and the Gold Ball.

“We have to re-focus. (Winning Class A North), that’s a great accomplishment, but everyone knows we want that one more win. We want to raise that gold ball. All those wins were nice, but they didn’t mean much to us. We had to re-focus this week and lock into this one game. It would mean everything, especially for this community. It’s been 15 years since we’ve even been here, so to win it, it would mean so much,” said Nolan Ames, senior guard.

Saturday’s tipoff at Portland’s Cross Insurance Arena is at 7:45 p.m.
