Machias wins Class D North boys basketball championship
No. 1 Bulldogs 61, No. 2 Madawaska Owls 57

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The Machias Bulldogs won the Class D North title over the Madawaska Owls, 61-57.
“We just tried to push it in transition. Our whole game plan was to get them to run, and I feel like we did that pretty well, but they’re tough. It feels great. We just wanted to get back here so badly. We’re so glad to get this win,” said Mickey Fitzsimmons, senior center.
The Bulldogs will be up against the Monmouth Academy Mustangs in the state championship on Saturday at 4:15 p.m. at the Augusta Civic Center.
