Gardiner wins Class B North boys basketball championship

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The Gardiner Tigers defeated the Cony Rams, 80-71, in the Class B North boys basketball championship.

Gardiner’s seniors won three and four games in their first two years of high school, now they’re regional champions and one win away from a state title.

“Oh my God, it’s so surreal. It’s such a big gap from the past years being on the low side of everything, then coming back and playing our rivals in the championship game, now we just have the state championship game. We’re looking forward to that Friday,” said Brady Atwater, senior forward.

Gardiner will face No. 4 Yarmouth in the state championship game on Fri. Feb. 27 at 7:45 p.m. at Cross Insurance Center.
