Machias defeats Central Aroostook to advance to Class D North Championship

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The Machias Bulldogs defeated the Central Aroostook Panthers, 47-38, to move on to the Class D North Championship.
“The defense really separated it. We got lots of stops, and then our stops led to offense. I feel like that’s really what happened. (Machias hasn’t) been to a regional final in a long time, (so players from this year’s team have) never been there,” said Leah Libby, sophomore guard.
The Bulldogs will face No. 1 Bangor Christian or No. 4 Penobscot Valley in the regional title game on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Cross Insurance Center.
