Cony defeats Ellsworth in Class B North semifinals
No. 1 Rams 66, No. 5 Eagles 64
BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The Cony Rams will play for a Class B North Championship after beating the Ellsworth Eagles, 66-64, in the regional semifinals.
Cony’s Parker Morin spoke about what it takes to perform under pressure, plus the challenge that Ellsworth presented.
“It’s just about staying calm. In warmups, you look up at the crowd, take it all in, take a deep breath, and put your game face on. It was a battle, for sure. They know they’re a physical team. We had to meet that physicality,” said Morin, senior guard.
The Eagles’ Bryce Hart had a chance at a game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer, but it wouldn’t fall.
Cony will face Gardiner on Friday at 6:45 p.m. at Cross Insurance Center for the regional title.
