Michael Lowell Wright’s Maine North Woods thriller becomes bestseller

The Golden Road is a real logging road in northern Maine with a long history of isolation and danger. Wright drew inspiration for the novel from his own near-death experiences in the northern Maine woods.

Wright grew up in Downeast Maine and spent his early adult years working as a laborer and crane operator at a chip processing mill. After becoming a father, he returned to college, later interning for Governor John E. Baldacci as a speech and correspondence writer at the Maine State House.
