Woman choking on french fry crashes into gas station awning, causing partial collapse

CINCINNATI (WXIX/Gray News) - Police in Ohio said a woman told them she choked on a French fry, causing her to crash into a gas station awning and hit another car.

The crash happened after noon Sunday on South Street in Wilmington.

A witness told law enforcement he saw a car on South Street drive into the parking lot of the Sunoco and crash into a pole supporting the awning, causing a partial collapse, according to the incident report.

The officer responding to the scene said he spoke with the driver.

According to the report, the driver said she did not remember the crash but has a dry spot in her throat that makes her choke. This time, she choked on a french fry, she said.
