Man arrested, charged after high-speed chase with troopers from Maine and New Hampshire
KITTERY, Maine (WABI) - A Harrison man is facing several charges after a high-speed chase early Sunday morning with troopers from Maine and New Hampshire.
Maine State Police say Matthew Olsen, 44, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence, eluding an officer, reckless conduct, and criminal speed.
Officials say New Hampshire State Police tried to stop Olsen due to his speeding and erratic driving but he refused to stop, and during a chase with police, he rammed a New Hampshire State Police cruiser.
Maine State Police took over when he crossed onto the Maine turnpike, where the chase continued until Olsen drove over a curb at the Kennebunk Rest Area, damaging his tires before getting back on the highway.
Troopers successfully disabled Olsen’s truck using the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT).
Olsen was arrested and taken to a hospital before being transported to York County Jail.
