‘A living treasure’: Woman celebrates her 111th birthday

CHICOT COUNTY, Ark. (KNOE/Gray News) -An Arkansas community is celebrating one of its residents turning 111 years old.

Ida Newbill was born in Franklin Parish, Louisiana, on Oct. 14, 1914.

She has accomplished plenty in her lifetime, including raising six kids with her husband, Joseph Newbill Sr.

“Today, we honor Ms. Ida for her 111 years of love, wisdom, and dedication -- a living treasure in our community,” Chicot County posted on Facebook.

The county says Newbill shows “kindness to everyone she meets,” and “continues to inspire generations with her strength and grace.”
