Ellsworth man trying to evade police seriously injured after being hit by truck in Biddeford

BIDDEFORD, Maine (WABI) - An Ellsworth man was seriously injured after being hit by a truck in Biddeford while trying to evade police.

According to State Police, the driver from West Virginia called authorities last evening around 8:30, stating he thought he may have struck a person running across the turnpike.

Troopers found 39-year old Jared Felling in a tall marshy area just before the exit. He had extensive injuries to his legs and head and was in the early stages of hypothermia.

According to State Police, Felling was running from police when he crossed the turnpike, after reportedly getting caught stealing from vehicles.

Additionally, Felling is accused of removing his court ordered monitor earlier in the day in Ellsworth.

As a result, an arrest warrant was out for him for violation of conditional release.
