School crossing guard accused of criminal sexual conduct with 13-year-old
MONROE, Mich. (Gray News) - A school crossing guard is accused of criminal sexual conduct with a 13-year-old girl, according to police.
According to the Monroe Public Safety Department, they received a report that an “older-looking male subject was possibly engaging in intimate contact with a younger female inside a vehicle.”
A detective made contact with a 13-year-old girl and a 23-year-old man at the scene.
The man, identified as Timothy Alan Warthen II, was arrested and admitted to raping the girl, whom he said he was “dating,” according to officials. He also shared that he worked as a crossing guard for Ida Public Schools.
Detectives followed up with the school district, and Warthen was fired.
Officials said there is no evidence indicating that Warthen engaged in inappropriate conduct or communication with other minors.
Warthen is charged with criminal sexual conduct.
