Memorial bench honors fallen Maine State Police K9

GRAY, Maine (WABI) - A heartfelt tribute.
A bench honoring fallen Maine State Police K9 Preacher now sits outside the Maine State Police barracks in Gray.
The Trooper Black Foundation donated the bench.
It commemorates K9 Preacher, a four-year-old Belgian Malinois, who was shot and killed in the line of duty during a tactical team operation in Portage Lake earlier this year.
State Police posted on Facebook Thursday morning, saying it’s “truly a special piece of Maine State Police history for a life taken too soon.”
