MILLINOCKET, Maine (WABI)—Students in the Katahdin Region are exploring the different college and career paths available to them.

Stearns Junior/Senior High School in Millinocket hosted its annual career fair on Tuesday.

WABI was there to educate students about the broadcast business.

Five area schools from the Katahdin Region attended, as well as more than 40 local businesses.

This is the third year the school has hosted the event, and staff say it’s been beneficial for students.

“We’ve had businesses where kids have left here with jobs or internships or apprenticeships, and so it’s nice. It’s a lot of work to put one of these together, but when you get to have a kid say I made this connection at the career fair and now I have a job, it’s all worth it,” said Kyle Leathers, 7th & 8th grade social studies at Stearns Jr./Sr. High School.

The school plans on holding another career fair next year.
