Alfond Youth and Community Center hosts Summer Camp Olympics at Colby College

WATERVILLE, Maine (WABI) - The Alfond Youth and Community Center brought local summer camps together for the Summer Camp Olympics at Colby College.

Competitions included track, swimming, basketball, and kickball in addition to the open field play times.

“This is a blast for the kids. We’ve had a wonderful, spectacular summer so far. We’re trying to really promote a lot of outdoor activities, get the kids outside, show them all the different games they can play with their family and friends in the neighborhood. We like to keep them physically active and out in the sun as much as possible,” said Chrissy Johnson, AYCC Senior Director of Child and Youth Development.

Johnson also added the importance of showing kids how to swim with all the lakes in Maine.
