FEMA grants funds to Maine applicants for storm recovery

(WABI) - FEMA funds are being granted for damages from the severe storm in December of 2023.

One month after President Joe Biden issued a disaster declaration for the state, more than $3.6 million in grants have been approved.

630 applicants in Androscoggin, Franklin, Kennebec, Oxford, and Somerset counties will receive funds for storm recovery.

These grants are to help with costs associated with housing and home repair, personal property loss, and loan assistance for small businesses affected by the storms.

Applications are still being accepted until April 1.
