Rockland juvenile facing charges after threatening officer with knife

ROCKLAND, Maine (WABI) - A juvenile is facing charges after Rockland police say he threatened an officer with a knife.

According to Rockland police, they were called to a store Wednesday morning for reports of a juvenile stealing alcohol.

They say they found the juvenile, recovered the alcohol, and took them home.

When they arrived at the home, they say the juvenile went inside and got a knife while the officer was talking to their guardian.

We’re told the officer de-escalated the situation, the juvenile went back in the house and came back out without the knife, and started yelling at the officer to shoot them.

The juvenile has been charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and was taken to Long Creek Youth Development Center.
