KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV/Gray News) - Not only are businesses and brands benefiting from the Taylor Swift Effect, but also families.

A Missouri father found himself unexpectedly bonding over football with his daughters following the reveal of the popstar’s romance with Travis Kelce.

Michael Nigro says it’s been one of the best Chiefs seasons for him and his family. Nigro told KCTV when they discovered Swift was bringing the Eras Tour to Kansas City, he purchased tickets for his daughters.

In the months leading up to the concert, the family practiced lyrics to all of Swift’s songs and made friendship bracelets to pass out to others. He and the girls would go down to the Lake of the Ozarks before the concert and practice the ‘Cool Summer’ bridge together.

Surprisingly, Nigro posted a Tiktok video of them singing along to Cruel Summer and it went viral. The video has more than 1.5 million views.

“Having the girls with us and so involved really adds another dynamic to it,” said Nigro. “Being involved with them, going to the concert and doing everything they love made me a better dad and hopefully they enjoyed the experience as much as I did.”

Cetaphil’s ad during the Super Bowl highlighted the ‘Taylor Swift effect.’ The company sent the family a care package after seeing their viral video, KCTV reported.

Nigro said he thought the commercial was great and it made him emotional.

“It was a great year. You can see in the TikTok video I got pretty emotional at the end of it and that had a lot to do with it,” said Nigro.
