Conant Apple Orchards opening creamery, adding new attractions

ETNA, Maine (WABI) - An apple orchard known for its fall family experience is expanding and opening early.

Conant Apple Orchards on Stage Road in Etna is opening a creamery. Starting Friday, they’ll offer specialty iced coffees, Gifford ice cream, milkshakes and slushies.

The orchard is also adding to their family. Two furry friends from Scotland will be joining them.

The orchard says details — including who it is and what else they’ll offer this week — will be posted on their Facebook page.

“We’re honored to be able to do this because the orchard has been here since 1945 so we have generations of families coming out so the fact that we have our returning families and new families coming out, it just means so much to us and the fact that we could grow what we have for them is even better,” said Hannah Hegarty, manager at Conant Apple Orchards.

Brick & Embers food truck will be on hand on opening day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

As for the apple crop, the owners say it’s looking promising. They had great weather during blossom season, so they’re hopeful this year’s crop will be excellent.
