Man arrested after reportedly assaulting woman in Bangor motel room

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A Guilford man is facing charges after police say a woman reported being assaulted and held at gunpoint in a Bangor motel room.

Joseph Pepin, 48, is charged with kidnapping, domestic violence criminal threatening, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

Bangor Police say the victim had been staying in the motel room on Odlin Road with Pepin over the week.

She told police Wednesday night, Pepin threatened her with a firearm and prevented her from leaving.

We’re told she was eventually able to escape and call police.

Bangor Police say they recovered a firearm from the scene.

Pepin was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
