MaineDOT to receive over $46 million in spending for projects

AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - The Maine Department of Transportation will receive $46,250,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending for multiple projects.

The funding was secured by Sen. Susan Collins: “Maintaining and improving Maine’s transportation infrastructure has always been a top priority of mine,” said Sen. Collins. “This funding will help to ensure the reliability and safety of travelers on Maine roads while strengthening local economies. As the Chair of the Appropriations Committee, I worked hard to secure this important funding.”

There are six projects across Maine, three of which in local areas:

• $12,000,000 will be used to improve the Causeway on Route 15 in Deer Isle.
• $7,200,000 will be going toward making safety improvements to Route 15 in Bucksport.
• $2,450,000 will be used to rehabilitate Route 201 in Jackman.

Elsewhere in Maine:

• $5,000,000 will be used to make safety improvements to Route 4 from Auburn to Livermore.
• $9,600,000 will be used to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Route 26-100 and Skillin Road in Cumberland.
• $10,000,000 will be used to rehabilitate Route 4 from Madrid to Rangeley.
