Police continue to search property for missing Hampden man

HAMPDEN, Maine (WABI) - Police are continuing to search for a 78-year-old man who went missing more than two weeks ago.

Hampden Public Safety asked for the public’s help Jan. 16 in finding Douglas Dunphy. He is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 210 pounds, and often wears a black Carhartt jacket and a blue cap.

Maine State Police, the Warden Service and Hampden Police searched Dunphy’s property on the Kennebec Road in Hampden Tuesday and are continuing Wednesday.

WABI saw a State Police Evidence Response Team van at the house on Tuesday.

Police said last week the vehicle associated with Dunphy has been recovered in Bangor, but there has been no contact with him.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call State Police or the Hampden Police Department.
