BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Husson University welcomed new students to its Bangor campus Saturday.

New student move-in marked the beginning of “Welcome Weekend” at the university, where students could get settled in and make new friends before the start of classes.

Over 900 students make up the 2025 freshman class, and, of them, over 500 moved onto the Bangor campus.

Welcome teams were in place across the university grounds to ensure that students and families had an easy time finding and moving into their dorms.

While many of these students major in business a large number of them are exploring health and science fields, as well as the school’s newer majors such as conservation law or wildlife biology.

“So it’s been really exciting for us to rebound from COVID and start to have such a large incoming class of over 900 students. It shows that our career-focused education really resonates with families, and the fact that 97% of our students have jobs or are in graduate school within a year of graduation is a really quality indicator of what Husson can do to help prepare students for successful futures,” said university president Lynne Coy-Ogan.

Students will spend the rest of the weekend getting better acquainted with their classmates, and the school, through fun activities.

Classes officially begin Tuesday, September 2nd.
