Etna woman claims ‘spirits’ made her stab boyfriend, court documents say
ETNA, Maine (WABI) - New details are emerging following a fatal stabbing in Etna last week.
Heidi Tasker, 36, is charged with murder after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in their Etna home.
According to court documents, authorities received a 911 call from Tasker early Friday morning where she confessed to stabbing Luke Norris, 41, three times.
The reason, Tasker said, was because “she was talking to spirits” who told her she had to and she claimed the murder stemmed from “good versus evil.”
The affidavit says the victim’s mother also told police Tasker has recently stopped taking her prescriptions.
In the home at the time of the murder was Tasker and Norris' three-year-old child, who is now in the custody of the child’s grandfather.
The State Medical Examiner confirmed Norris died from multiple sharp force injuries and ruled his death a homicide.
Tasker is currently being held without bail and will undergo a court ordered mental competency evaluation.
