The low pressure system over the Atlantic will nudge northward overnight tonight. This will bring more scattered rain showers across the state as they stream in form southeast to northwest. An upper level low will then capture the surface low and pull it closer to the region for Monday. This will bring more showers activity through the rest of the work week.
Tropical storm Ophelia is bringing heavy rain and gusty winds to mid-Atlantic states, with landfall forecast to be in North Carolina. Ophelia, or what’s left of Ophelia, will continue to push northward. Moisture associated with Ophelia will push northward into New England by the time we get into tonight bringing in some rain to mostly southern New England. The good new is, a nice high pressure system will swing southward from Quebec and act as shield from most of the rainfall here in Maine. Expect a good amount of sunshine for the first half of the day with clouds increasing into this afternoon and evening.
