We’ll start off with mostly cloudy to overcast skies but high pressure will help to decrease cloud cover from north to south through the afternoon. Most of us will stay dry today, however, there is still a chance for a few sprinkles to slide through along the coast this morning. Another cold front will begin to sink southward across the region this evening. While this front doesn’t have much moisture to work with, it may conjure up a few raindrops across higher elevations in northwestern Maine tonight. Highs today will be similar to Saturday reaching the upper 60′s to lower 70′s statewide.

Tropical storm Ophelia is bringing heavy rain and gusty winds to mid-Atlantic states, with landfall forecast to be in North Carolina. Ophelia, or what’s left of Ophelia, will continue to push northward. Moisture associated with Ophelia will push northward into New England by the time we get into tonight bringing in some rain to mostly southern New England. The good new is, a nice high pressure system will swing southward from Quebec and act as shield from most of the rainfall here in Maine. Expect a good amount of sunshine for the first half of the day with clouds increasing into this afternoon and evening.
