A low pressure system passing to our north will send in a warm front, from southwest to northeast. Precipitation this evening starts off as snow but changes over to rain for most of the state with the exception of the crown of Maine. Snow accumulations will be minimal less than and inch in the Bangor region, 1-2" up towards Greenville and Millinocket, then 2-4" for the crown of Maine.
Southerly winds will help usher in a warmer air mass through the weekend ahead of a complex storm system moving in late Sunday afternoon into Monday. A FIRST ALERT WEATHER DAY has been issued for Monday for inland and coastal communities.
