Vacation Fill Master Control Operator

Location: Bangor, ME
WABI-TV seeks a full-time vacation coverage Master Control Operator and engineering support technician. Applicant must be versatile and capable of learning specialized software applications and have an aptitude for operating electronic equipment. An applicant for this position must be detail-oriented, have excellent computer skills and must be able to work in a fast paced environment. An ideal candidate must be able to work a varying schedule and have a willingness to assist engineering technicians as needed in multiple capacities. Master Control Operators are required to join the IBEW.
• Broadcast Operations including controlling and monitoring television broadcast equipment that transmits television programs and commercials to the viewing audience
• On-air switching, dubbing and transferring programs and commercials
• Gathering satellite feeds for broadcast use
• Support the production of newscasts and other live or recorded programming
• Support operation of the station by assisting Engineering, News, and other departments
• Assist in the performance of various building and equipment maintenance tasks.
• Other duties as assigned
A successful Master Control Operator must be able to work independently, be detailed oriented, communicate efficiently and perform well in a fast paced environment. Applicant should have an aptitude for learning and operating specialized computer software and electronics. Previous broadcasting experience is preferred, but not required.
