ORONO, MAINE (WABI) - The UMaine Sports Hall of Fame will grow by nine new members this fall. The class announced today includes two sports stars John Gilette and Ron Lanza from the 60's
Some track standouts are in this year’s class. Jesse LaBreck was a 12 time conference champion. She is also a ninja warrior star. Will Spencer was a celebrated runner.
Current UMaine coach Amy Vachon is on the list. She played basketball for the Black Bears.
Ray Jacques was a two time ice hockey captain in the 80's.
Phil McGeoghan played wide receiver in football and was a track star. He's now coaching in the NFL.
Two others were in Major League Baseball. Bill Livesey as a scout and Rookie LeTendre as a trainer.
The 1964 Maine baseball team will also be inducted. Ceremonies are in October.
