Maine falls at Central Michigan, Ferguson injured

MOUNT PLEASANT, MI (WABI) - Central Michigan’s Tommy Lazzaro had one touchdown pass and one touchdown run as the Chippewas dealt UMaine its first loss of the year 17-5 on Saturday.

Black Bears starting quarterback Chris Ferguson left the game in the first quarter and did not return. ESPN calling it a separated shoulder on the broadcast.

Kenny Doak made a field goal in the 3rd quarter. Richard Carr blocked a punt for a safety in the 4th quarter.

Backup quarterback Isaiah Robinson going 16 of 32 for 162 yards with 2 interceptions. He was also sacked 5 times.

The “Black Hole” defense held Central Michigan to 177 yards on offense. They also forced and recovered a fumble. Deshawn Stevens had UMaine’s one interception.

The (2-1) Black Bears are at Yale next Saturday.
