Woman injured following collision with logging truck in Orient

ORIENT, Maine (WAGM) - A woman was injured yesterday morning after being hit by a logging truck in Orient.

According to police, 63-year-old Susan Hanscom of Orient didn't yield at a right-of-way intersection on US 1, pulling in front of the truck.

The driver told police he tried to stop but was unable.

When the two vehicles collided, Hanscom's 's vehicle spun 180 degrees into a ditch.

The jaws of life were used to get her out of the vehicle. She was taken to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The logging truck driver was not hurt.
