WINTHROP, Maine. (WABI) Winthrop will be celebrating its 30th annual Sidewalk Art Festival this weekend.
The event offers art, live music, local food, and children's activities in the heart of downtown.
Folks of all ages are encouraged to attend the two-day summer festival, which includes re-painting the 'Winthrop Plays Outside' mural on Sunday.
Everyone is invited to the Winthrop Grade School from 10-to-2 to complete the community painting.
Saturday brings a church luncheon and lawn sale, a community mosaic creation, live concerts at Norcross Point on Maranacook Lake, and the sidewalk art sale.
"We have more artists than ever. So we have nearly 40 artists showing up- people who are painters, potters, photographers, jewelers, fabric art, collage media- a really nice group of artists," said Barbara Walsh, Director of the Waterville Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce.
The weekend also includes a Rotary barbecue and Gumbo Festival with proceeds dedicated to ending hunger in the Great Lakes Region.
